11U, 2022 (Creemore Minor Baseball)

The dream summer continued for the 11U Cardinals with their fourth tournament championship, this time at Peake Fields in Bracebridge. The 14th Annual Muskoka Cup was won by Creemore last weekend; the smallest town, or city, to ever win this tournament.

The Creemore Cardinals 11U team won their third tournament of the year last weekend with a win over the host Vaughn Vikings. Three pool game wins over the Newmarket Hawks, Guelph Royals and Vaughn Vikings earned the team the first seed in the playoff round, and a bye to the semi-final. The Cardinals beat the Milton Mets in the semi-final by a score of 14-5 before prevailing in the championship by a score of 12-3 in a rematch with the Vaughn Vikings. This weekend the 11U Cardinals will be in Bracebridge for the 14th annual Muskoka Cup tournament

On Friday the Cardinals faced the Orangeville Bengals in the first game of the annual Chatham Diamonds tournament. A four-run first inning got the Cardinals off to a quick start. Two RBI by Hayden Goodfellow-Oster and three hits by Cooper Duits led to a 16-0 win.

This past Sunday the Creemore Cardinals took two games from the Newmarket Hawks to improve their record on the season to 8-0. Creemore scored 32 runs on the day with hits from every player in the lineup including five home runs. On the defensive side Creemore pitchers did not allow a hit over the two games. The day started off with the introduction of the starting line-ups and the National Anthem sung by Isaiah Bell. The Cardinal bats came alive on Sunday in a double-header against the Barrie Baycats. The young squad won both games by scores of 15-4 and 16-3 and improved their record to 4-0.In Game 1, Brayden Foulds brought the fans to their feet in the second inning with a monster three-run home run over the 232’ sign in centerfield. Evan Wells and Jack Hutchison combined to strike out nine batters in the first three innings.
